We are situated just a few minutes stroll from the village of Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere from there you can take a cruise to nearby both Ambleside and Lakeside with its aquarium and steam railway. There is a Cinema, numerous quality restaurants and pubs to choose from and we are always happy to recommend some of our favourites.

Ivythwaite Lodge is an ideal base for your Lakeland holiday. From here you can strike out and see some of the most Beautiful Mountain Lake scenery in England. Visit the picturesque villages of Hawkshead and Grasmere once home to the Poet William Wordsworth, Lake Coniston with its historic Gondola and for the more energetic of you a hike up the ‘Old Man of Coniston’ just one of the many mountain and fell walks offering breathtaking views. Whether you cycle, walk or ride you are never far from the splendours the Lake District has to offer.

We always read reviews about places to stay on Trip Advisor before making a booking. The reviews for Ivythwaite Lodge Hotel were very good so we booked. What a wonderful place to stay. We received a friendly welcome on arrival. The rooms were lovely and clean. The breakfast was very nice. The lodge is ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness...
