Ivythwait Lodge is ideally situated between the towns of Windamere & Bowness. Andrew & Abigail are the perfect hosts, very friendly & welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. They are very knowledgeable about the area & gave great suggestions & advice on things to do & places to visit. Ivythwaite Lodge is spotlessly clean, the room is comfortable with good hospitality trays. Extra bonus of a fridge with fresh milk, bottled water. & complimentary cake in the room on arrival. Breakfast was fantastic, good choice and local produce used. Home baked muffins & bread was a real treat. - K
Ivythwaite Lodge really is a wonderful placed to stay. We booked the luxury double attic room to stay for 3 nights following our wedding. The room was spacious, and the attention to detail in terms of amenities really helped make the stay as relaxing as possible. From the mini fridge in the room, to the wine glassed provided and arm chairs offering another place to relax in the room. Abigail and Andrew were wonderful hosts; chatty and welcoming, with some very useful knowledge of local walking routes. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. As a coeliac, it can be nerve wracking staying away somewhere and having them cook for you. However, Abigail put me at ease immediately, letting me know all the measures they have in place to ensure cross contamination is avoided. Home-made gluten free granola and home-made muffins really were wonderful touches (the muffins made the perfect mid-hike snack during our trip). All the cooked breakfast items were delicious, and it really does make a huge difference seeing that produce is home made or locally sourced wherever possible. We definitely wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Ivythwaite again – thanks so much for having us. - R
Really comfortable and relaxed stay, we came here for the weekend and would have happily stayed longer if we could, the hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating and were always more then happy to help with anything. - P
